June Employee of the Month

We’re thrilled to recognize Heather Nunez, our incredible Dietary Director, as Carington Park’s June Employee of the Month! With 5½ years of dedicated service at our facility and 20 years of experience in the foodservice industry, Heather’s impact is undeniable.



Heather has been with us through it all—even sticking it out from the very start of the COVID-19 pandemic. This marks the longest job she’s ever held, and she says it’s because she truly enjoys being here. Her unwavering commitment and love for what she does shine through every day.

Her philosophy is simple but powerful: “If anything is worth doing, it’s worth doing right!” And it shows. From menu creation to mentoring her kitchen staff, Heather leads with excellence, care, and compassion. Her coworkers often tell her she’s their favorite boss, and our residents appreciate the time she takes to listen and connect with them.

Originally from Ashtabula, Ohio, Heather has built a beautiful life filled with purpose and passion. She’s a proud wife and mom to five children—and even a bunny! Her daily motivation? Her family. She says they’re what keep her going every day.

In addition to her leadership at Carington Park, Heather is also a small business owner, selling cupcakes on the weekends through her side hustle, Lunda Confections. (Yes, they’re as delicious as they sound!)

When she’s not cooking up something tasty at work or at home, you might find her dreaming big—her bucket list includes having another child or two, taking her family on a vacation in a big van, and someday owning her very own food truck.
