Supporting Those Who Served: Carington Park Gives Back to Veterans
November 12, 2024
The Norman D. Banquet Center was filled with pride and gratitude as veterans from all walks of life gathered for a heartfelt Veterans Day celebration. Sponsored by the Veteran Service Commission of Ashtabula County, Ashtabula Regional Medical Center, Bella Care Hospice, Foundations Health Solutions, and Carington Park. Around 200 veterans attended, each greeted warmly and seated for a complimentary meal that included a delicious pasta dinner, fresh salad, refreshments, and dessert.
Around 20 gift baskets were raffled off, adding an element of excitement to the event. A touching recognition of the youngest and oldest veterans in attendance, their experiences, though separated by generations, were a testament to the enduring spirit of service. The organizers took a moment to recognize the dedication and sacrifice each veteran had made. Heartfelt speeches honored their bravery, with representatives from each sponsoring organization expressing deep gratitude for the veterans’ service.
During the event, Brandi, the administrator of Carington Park, proudly presented a check for $4,600, raised through Purse Bingo and a Golf outing, to the U.S. Veterans Motorcycle Club of Ashtabula. These funds will have a meaningful impact where the club can now provide direct support to local veterans in need, whether through financial assistance, resources for medical care, or other essentials. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to ensuring no veteran in the community is left behind, especially those facing challenges upon returning to civilian life.
